Barb Lawson-Miller wrote, illustrated and published the books as a stay-at-home Mom. She came up with the idea because her husband was traveling a lot for work. She wanted her daughter to know how much her Daddy loved her. "I Love Daddy Because..." was the first book. Barb made a paper book with photos of her husband and daughter together. When her husband was home, they would read together and smile and smile. Even when her husband was away, Barb's daughter was able to keep her Daddy close by as they read "I Love Daddy Because..."
