Sweet Dreams Maternity Wear’s owner Sandra Mayo was a struggling single parent not too many years ago. She always wanted a better life for her and her only daughter at the time, Deondra and dreamed of a successful career in the fashion industry.
Living in California and struggling financially, Sandra felt a world away from her dreams and goals. It wasn’t until she got re-married to her husband Michael, had a second child, and quit her job of 16 years, that her life started to fall into place.
Being a woman of strong faith, Sandra prayed that God would show her a way to be a stay-at-home mom and remain financially stable.
During Sandra's pregnancy, she stumbled upon the business idea that she had prayed for. She was shopping for maternity clothes when she noticed that there were very few companies that sold maternity lingerie or sexy loungewear. After doing months of research, she found that there was a real demand in the market for this type of maternity wear.
Sandra and Michael took a second mortgage out on their home and thus Sweet Dreams Maternity Wear was born!
