The President of English & Christie found herself in bed for three months under doctors orders when she decided to have a child. Despite the solitude of being a single mum-to-be confined to bed, she was nevertheless so excited, like all mums-to-be, that she spent a ridiculous amount of time decorating the nursery and practicing meditation. Still, she could not help but wonder what to do to make the diaper pail – the most used item in the nursery – less conspicuous. Since one uses it all day long, hiding it behind a rocking chair really wasn’t an option. Thus was the Diaper Duds concept born; to sweetly enhance the nursery by transforming the “diaper disposal system” into a charming final touch.
As a reasonably successful International Development consultant who chose to have a child - despite an uninterested father - Christie (Christine) keeps her product priced to make it accessible to all. Since the design is utility patent pending, which basically means that she has the only company allowed to manufacture them, she feels obliged to meet the needs of both the privileged mother desiring a custom Diaper Duds diaper changing ensemble (including Diaper Duds pail cover, changing pad cover, and diaper stacker), as well of those with more modest means, yet excellent taste.
While those on the spiritual path may decry the need for the material, we cannot deny that we are creative beings in a physical world who can choose to celebrate a baby’s birth and manifest beauty! In future, I hope to introduce holistic baby gift baskets, full of goodies to prepare the nursery for baby’s magical entry. Namaste.
