| Each year, about 375 children under age 5 drown in residential swimming pools, usually pools owned by their families. Another 2900 children under 5 are treated in hospital emergency rooms for submersion injuries. Safety Turtle, a personal immersion alarm, has been developed to prevent such tragedy. The standard Safety Turtle alarm system consists of one or more lockable Turtle wristbands (of the same color), and a Base Station positioned within 100 feet of the pool. As soon as a child wearing a wristband falls into water, the Turtle sends a radio signal to the Base Station, which then alarms loudly. The dual-alarming commercial Safety Turtle alarm system alarms both pool-side and up to 1,500 feet away. Safety Turtle requires no installation, is highly portable and works for all fresh water hazards. The Base Station is powered from its AC adapter or optional 12 volt rechargeable battery in a weatherproof bag. |
