Punctuation Playtime is a 45-minute assembly program for students in grades 1-6 that teaches punctuation in a fun, engaging way.

Punctuation Playtime founders Jeff Rubin and Norma Martínez-Rubin are passionate about literacy. They believe that reaching children at the beginning of their scholastic careers is critical in helping them develop the reading and writing skills that will be a key not only to their academic success, but also to their professional success as adults.

Jeff and Norma teach punctuation with fun games and activities - the Punctuation Relay; the Wynken, Blynken, and Nod Punctuation Contest; and Pin the Punctuation Mark on the Sentence - designed to reinforce important punctuation lessons. Programs are age appropriate; children in upper grades are given advanced material.

Teacher-training workshops are available, and are often conducted along with children's programs.

Punctuation Playtime founder Jeff Rubin also founded National Punctuation Day (September 24), a celebration of the lowly comma, correctly used quotes, and other proper uses of periods, semicolons, and the ever-mysterious ellipsis.
