How did the Pony Up idea come about?
In 1998, Shania did a concert at Texas Stadium. She was wearing a baseball cap with her hair sticking out the back of the cap. When I saw her, I said to myself, "self, (that's what I call myself when I'm alone), something just isn't right". She was wearing a cap in a cowboy jersey, but it just didn't say "Country". Thirty minutes later, it hit me. She needed a "Cowboy hat with a hole in the back for her ponytail".
It stayed an idea until 2004. That's when I saw Shania's Dream Come True on Oprah with Dolly Parton. Oprah & Shania inspired us to Live Our Dream. That's how Pony Up Hats began. We've had OVERWHELMING feedback from EVERY girl that has seen it.
We have spent a year making sure that we have a quality product. We had to design & make custom equipment & jewelry since no one does what we needed. We sought wise counsel from sources that God has put in our path and been amazed how He has given solutions.
While working through design challenges, we were able to acquire a patent pending (in the US as well as internationally) on our new Pony Up Hat. In addition to our patent pending we have copyrights for each jewelry design and all images used on our website.
Our hats are a great accessory for dance teams and drill teams!
